Cam Heyward gets no love from ESPN rankings

Cam Heyward didn’t make ESPN’s list of the top 10 defensive tackles for 2026, voted on by NFL executives, coaches, and scouts. That snub is tough to swallow considering what Heyward put on tape in 2025.

Heyward never missed a game and, for his tremendous efforts, earned second-team AP All-Pro honors and All-AFC recognition. He played at a level most defensive linemen never scratch at 36, leading all Steelers defensive linemen with 78 combined tackles, added 3.5 sacks and posted nine tackles for loss and nine quarterback hits.

Heyward also finished with a 90.4 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, which reflects what Steelers fans watched every week: Cam doing Cam things in a way that made it look easy. He was winning snaps, controlling gaps and being that reliable interior guy that he always has been.

The Steelers rewarded him with a one-year extension in March, keeping him under contract through 2027, showing that he’s at the top of their list no matter what execs, coaches and scouts think.
