Cam Jordan Set for Talks with Saints as Contract Negotiations Progress
Former New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan is scheduled to meet with the team on Tuesday to explore the possibility of rejoining the franchise, according to remarks made by his ex-teammate, Terron Armstead, on "The Set." Reports from Matthew Paras of nola.com indicate that discussions between Jordan and the Saints have advanced following several meetings this offseason with General Manager Mickey Loomis.
The Saints are gearing up for their mandatory minicamp, which also kicks off on Tuesday. Jordan, who turned 36, entered free agency in March and has shown a desire to return to New Orleans, though he remains open to opportunities with other teams. Despite the Saints' recent acquisitions of veteran pass rushers Tyree Wilson and Anfernee Jennings, Jordan's performance last season, which included 10.5 sacks—his first double-digit season since 2021—demonstrates his continued effectiveness on the field.
Throughout his 15-year career, Jordan has amassed an impressive total of 132 sacks. Coach Kellen Moore acknowledged the significance of Jordan to both the team and the community last week, stating, “We’re here to help in any possible way. We know what he means to this organization and this city, so if the opportunity presents itself and he feels comfortable and ready to go, then we’ll be ready to rock and roll.”
