Dominique Malonga did not simply participate in her first WNBA All-Star Game. She made history. The Seattle Storm center threw down a powerful dunk during Team Coop’s 129-122 loss to Team Spoon at the United Center in Chicago, becoming the youngest player ever to dunk in a WNBA All-Star Game.

Malonga accomplished the feat at only 20 years old.

Yahoo Sports shared the highlight and celebrated the historic moment, writing, “At just 20 years old, Dominique Malonga becomes the youngest player EVER to dunk in a WNBA All-Star Game.”

It was the biggest highlight of an impressive All-Star debut for one of the league’s fastest-rising young players.

Malonga received the ball with space near the basket and did not hesitate. The 6-foot-6 center took advantage of the open lane, elevated and slammed the ball through the hoop as the United Center crowd erupted.

The dunk immediately became one of the defining moments from the WNBA’s 30th-anniversary All-Star celebration.

Malonga finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds in only 16 minutes off the bench. She shot 6-of-17 from the field and collected five offensive rebounds, giving Team Coop additional possessions throughout the game.

Her team featured Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Mitchell and Marina Mabrey, but Malonga still managed to create one of the night’s most memorable moments.

Mitchell led all scorers with 28 points and five 3-pointers, while Mabrey added 23 points. Bueckers finished with 12 points and seven assists.

Team Spoon ultimately earned the victory behind All-Star Game MVP Jonquel Jones, who recorded 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Olivia Miles nearly produced a triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, while Caitlin Clark scored 17 points and made five 3-pointers.

Even in a game loaded with established superstars, Malonga’s dunk stood out.

WNBA fans are watching a superstar emerge

Malonga’s historic moment did not come out of nowhere. The Storm selected her with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft after she built an impressive professional career in France and won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Malonga was still a teenager when she entered the WNBA, but her potential was obvious. She possesses a rare combination of height, length, mobility and explosiveness. After averaging 7.7 points and 4.6 rebounds as a rookie, Malonga has taken an enormous step forward during her second season.

She entered the All-Star break averaging 16.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while shooting 47.6 percent from the field. Malonga has become Seattle’s leading scorer and rebounder despite being one of the youngest players in the league.

Her recent performances have included 28 points and 14 rebounds against the Indiana Fever, 21 points and four blocks against the Minnesota Lynx and three double-doubles over a four-game stretch.

Seattle has struggled in the standings, but Malonga has provided the franchise with an unmistakable reason for optimism.

Malonga adds another dunk to growing collection

Dunking is not new for Malonga. She first went viral for throwing down slams as a teenager in Europe. She later dunked during an official EuroCup game and became the first player to dunk for France’s senior national team.

Malonga also produced a slam during the 2026 Unrivaled season. Her All-Star dunk, however, happened on one of the WNBA’s biggest stages. It came in front of a national television audience and alongside many of the greatest players in the world.

Malonga arrived in Chicago as a first-time All-Star.

She left as a record-holder and the author of one of the most electric highlights in WNBA All-Star Game history.
