Caitlin Clark’s highly anticipated signature shoe won’t reach the public until later this year, but a pair of WNBA veterans have received it early. Following a surprise visit from the Indiana Fever star during their ‘Studbudz’ livestream, Natisha Hiedeman and Courtney Williams were given a pair of the yet-to-be-released shoe.

“I’m wearing these tonight,” Williams said on the stream, holding the shoe, with Clark next to her and Hiedeman. “I made a call to the president. And y’all see what happened. We love the President. We love the President.”

“I think we’re all the same size,” Clark said, then told Williams, “You’re the second player to ever play them after this other young girl.”

Caitlin Clark has been giving away five pairs of her signature shoes with Nike throughout the All-Star weekend. Most recently, a young girl who played after Clark and Dude Perfect’s game ahead of the marquee event won a pair of those very shoes. But the moment, apart from being a heartwarming sight between the Studbudz and Clark, with the Fever star and Williams set to be in the All-Star game on the same team, also generated hype for Clark’s shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1, set to release on October 1st.

The sneaker features a low-cut design with a new Opticast upper featuring nodes that form the letter C and the number 2, alluding to her initials and her jersey number. The nodes also reduce drag with varying height. The $140 shoe also includes Cushlon midsoles and Air Zoom Turbo at the forefoot.

Apart from the “Racer Blue” colorway that Clark debuted on her Instagram, and the purple pair she gifted the Studbudz, an alternate black colorway was seen being worn by rapper Travis Scott.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time the Williams and Hiedeman called on ‘President’ Caitlin Clark. Back on Thursday, when the players first arrived at their hotels in Chicago for All-Star weekend, Williams had called on the ‘President’ to help her with an unnamed $1,800 charge that she felt was unjustified.

This stemmed from the previous All-Star weekend in Indianapolis, when Clark helped out the pair with her influence. Unfortunately for the Studbudz, Clark wasn’t in Chicago on Thursday, seemingly getting her hair done in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, making it to the city the next day.

True to her word, Williams ended up wearing the sneakers during the game, with Clark herself wearing a gradient pair with shades of orange, red, and yellow. During the stream, Clark also told Hiedeman that she had “something better” coming for her, adding that she had to “get them right.”

The trio even found their way to the Indiana Fever’s social media page, which posted the three of them wearing the Caitlin 1s.
