Falcons training camp spotlight: WR Keelan Marion

The Atlanta Falcons released former No. 2 wide receiver Darnell Mooney back in March, and it's debatable whether or not the team found an adequate replacement. Instead of looking to bring in a big name to play opposite Drake London on the outside, the Falcons signed several role players.

Veteran wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus is back in Atlanta, and former first-round pick Jahan Dotson was signed as the speedy replacement for Mooney. However, the two combined for just 575 receiving yards last season, which would still be underwhelming for a No. 2 receiver.

Rookie Zachariah Branch should be in the mix for a starting role, and behind him, there's very little depth at wide receiver. The Falcons are hoping at least one of their three undrafted wide receivers will stand out during training camp.

Since that's still a few weeks away, we've been spotlighting different rookies to watch when they return to Flowery Branch on July 24. In today's Falcons Wire training camp spotlight, we examine UDFA wide receiver Keelan Marion.

  • 2025 Stats: 57 catches, 746 yards, 2 TD

Marion played for three different schools over his collegiate career. He began his career at Connecticut, recording 32 catches for 563 receiving yards over two seasons before transferring to BYU in 2021. While he failed to make an impact in two seasons with the Cougars, Marion transferred to Miami in 2025 and had a career year.

He finished the season with 57 catches for a 746 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Marion recorded 133 catches for 1,871 receiving yards and nine touchdowns over his five collegiate seasons.

Marion, like the others on this list, has experience as a kick returner. He returned 50 career kicks for 1,174 yards and two touchdowns. He showed some ability out of the backfield as well, rushing for 161 yards and five touchdowns over the last three seasons at BYU and Miami.

Standing at 6-0, 195 pounds, Marion's role on offense would likely be in the slot. The former Hurricane is an above-average route runner and he's quick enough to be a force after the catch. That catch-and-run ability will work well on screens in Kevin Stefanski's offense.
