FSU defensive line target commits to Big Ten program

The FSU Seminoles had a great week on the recruiting trail, adding two commitments to their 2027 recruiting class and one to their 2028 class. They were unable to keep it going on Saturday, with key defensive line target Karlos May committing to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

May is from Birmingham, Alabama, and was FSU's top remaining uncommitted target in the 2027 recruiting cycle. The 6-foot-3.5, 305-pounder was also considering the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. He was a priority for all four programs, with FSU, Auburn, and Georgia expected to keep recruiting the four-star prospect.

The Seminoles have been recruiting him since July of 2025, when they extended him a scholarship offer. He has visited Tallahassee four times since then, including taking an official visit in June.

May is ranked as the No. 135 overall player and No. 15 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 5 player from Alabama.

FSU currently has four defensive line players committed in their 2027 recruiting class, but May was a chance to add another elite talent to the group. Four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune is their top-ranked defensive line addition, with four-star edge Anthony Cavallaro, three-star edge Jaxon Holly, and three-star defensive lineman Eric Vaulx Jr. completing the haul.
