Gators rise as early favorite for 2028 blue-chip WR Zyon Robinson

Florida currently sits atop 2028 blue-chip wide receiver Zyon Robinson's recruitment, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot, 185-pound receiver from Powder Springs, Georgia, is an early priority for Jon Sumrall as he and his staff begin to lay a foundation two cycles ahead.

"They are very consistent with communicating with me and my family," according to Robinson.

Florida has outpaced the competition in communication and engagement, helping to establish an early lead for the highly touted pass catchers. Multiple members of the Gators' coaching staff have worked to build a relationship with Robinson, including wide receivers coaches Marcus Davis and Trent McKnight.

"It feels great to know that they're trying to make me a main source right now," Robinson told Swamp247.

During the 2025 season, Robinson served as a primary offensive weapon for Stockbridge High School. The sophomore hauled in 44 catches for 732 yards and double-digit touchdowns. A top-20 prospect in the Peach State, Robinson has since transferred to McEachern High School for his upcoming junior campaign.

While Robinson is also being courted by SEC foes, Tennessee, South Carolina and Ole Miss. The top-125 prospect will likely be on campus this fall for a game-day visit, giving the Gators a chance to fortify their advantage.

Robinson is the No. 127-ranked prospect in the 2028 recruiting class and No. 17 at his position according to 247Sports composite; the On3 industry ranking lists him at Nos. 106 and 17, respectively. The No. 16 talent in the state of Georgia has 15 offers, including invitations from Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Mississippi State.
