Gleyber Torres Exits Game Against Astros Due to Injury

HOUSTON – Gleyber Torres has faced another setback. During the second inning of the matchup between the Detroit Tigers and the Houston Astros on June 15, Torres left the field after swinging at a fastball from right-hander Kai-Wei Teng, clocked at 92.4 mph, and missing the pitch.

Torres departed the game accompanied by manager A.J. Hinch and assistant athletic trainer Kelly Rhoades. Details regarding the nature of his injury have not been disclosed.

This unfortunate incident adds to Torres's injury troubles this season. The 29-year-old previously went on the injured list on May 4 due to a left oblique strain, returning to action only on June 2.

Following Torres's exit, the Tigers brought in Hao-Yu Lee as a pinch-hitter, who subsequently took over at second base. Updates regarding Torres's condition are expected to be released soon.
