High Point reportedly interested in a former Wisconsin transfer guard
Wisconsin's recent NCAA Tournament foe, High Point, is one of the programs interested in former Badger guard Daniel Freitag, according to a report.
Dylan Lutey took to X on Wednesday to share that Freitag, who spent the 2024-25 season at Wisconsin before transferring to Buffalo, has heard from Ole Miss, Creighton, Cal, Grand Canyon, Washington, Penn State, Portland, Oregon State and High Point since entering the portal. Freitag later reposted the news.
The Minneapolis, Minnesota, native appeared in 14 games as a true freshman with the Badgers in 2024-25, totaling 29 minutes, two points, four rebounds and three assists. He later blossomed as a sophomore at Buffalo in 2025-26, averaging 33.2 minutes, 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 23 appearances.
247Sports currently ranks Freitag as the No. 123 overall player and No. 26 point guard in the transfer portal.

Freitag's Big Ten interest is notable, as he may soon be back competing in the Badgers' conference. It's also a minor note that High Point, which recently eliminated the Badgers from the NCAA Tournament, was among the programs listed.
