How many World Cup goals has Kylian Mbappe scored? France star trails Messi
PHILADELPHIA — Kylian Mbappé has been unstoppable for France at the 2026 World Cup.
The Les Bleus' star forward has scored six of France's 13 goals through four games, a stat line that has helped Didier Deschamps' squad become the favorite to win the tournament, both on the pitch and on betting sites.
Mbappé remains in a head-to-head race with Lionel Messi for the World Cup all-time goals record, a mark that the Real Madrid forward could break this tournament – or at the very least, will hold at some point in his career as Messi is competing in his final World Cup for Argentina.
Mbappé enters Saturday's round-of-16 match against Paraguay with 19 career World Cup goals, one shy of Messi's current record, in just 18 World Cup matches.
"I don’t think about it that way," Mbappé said after France's last match when asked in Spanish about his record-shattering pace. "Of course, I know all the stats and what people are saying – I watch TV, too – but I think only about how I can help my team, to be here once more on July 19 for the final."
