How much FIFA are set to make by selling patches of World Cup final pitch in New Jersey

The playing surface at the New York New Jersey Stadium may have come under fire during the 2026 World Cup, but some supporters will be able to purchase a piece of it.

Otherwise known as the MetLife Stadium, the New York New Jersey Stadium will be where the 2026 World Cup final is played.

There simply isn’t a bigger game in soccer and what happens there on July 19 will be written into the sport’s history books.

Those wishing to have a piece of the action to hold onto will be able to do so – and FIFA stand to make a lot of money from it.

FIFA could raise over $11m by selling grass

FIFA will be selling off patches of the pitch after the World Cup final is played.

Encased in resin to preserve it, they will only be shipped to customers in the UK, the US or Europe.

The fragments are priced at $450 (roughly £335) on FIFA’s official store and include an acrylic casing inscribed with the 2026 World Cup official logo, the date of the World Cup final and whatever the result from the match itself is.

The package also includes a USB carrying an authenticity film. There are three additional tiers, priced at $900, $1200, and $3000 respectively.

Each tier is limited to 2,026 pieces, meaning FIFA could rake in over $11m if all of them are sold.

Everything below the $3000 tier is a 2.5″ x 2.5″ x 2.5″ piece of grass. The most expensive tier is a 3″ x 3″ x 3″ section and other extras including a gold-etched metal souvenir ticket, a crystal-cut glass World Cup trophy and a mini replica World Cup final ball.

FIFA did something similar after the 2025 Club World Cup final, which was also played at the MetLife Stadium. Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain to become the first winners of the competition since its significant expansion.
