Kelsey Plum Set to Return for Sparks Against Wings Following Ankle Injury
Kelsey Plum is poised to make her comeback to the Los Angeles Sparks as they prepare to face the Dallas Wings. On Thursday, Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts shared with reporters that Plum performed well during practice and expressed optimism about playing in Friday's game. Plum confirmed her readiness, stating, “I hated it,” referring to her time sidelined while recovering from her injury. “I have been just rehabbing like a maniac, sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber, red lighting my way back.”
The four-time WNBA All-Star has been absent for the last three games due to a sprained ankle she incurred during practice on May 26. However, she is currently listed as probable for the upcoming home game against the Wings. At 31 years old and in her ninth WNBA season, Plum leads the league with an impressive average of 26.8 points per game, surpassing reigning MVP A’ja Wilson by two points. Additionally, she is achieving a career-high of 6.3 assists per game while shooting 49% from beyond the arc.
In contrast, the Wings enter the game with a solid record of 6-3, tied for the third-best in the league. Dallas has been on a winning streak, claiming victory in three straight games and five of their last six, with notable wins against both the Aces and the New York Liberty.
