Kentucky's TBT team, La Familia, sees more roster changes
The Basketball Tournament, the huge summer event where college alumni teams play for a $2 million prize, begins in just a few days. The Kentucky Wildcats entry, La Familia, will open up with a best of three series against The Ville in what should be a fierce, but fun, matchup. Unfortunately, La Familia has had some issues completing their roster, which has seen more changes over the past few days.
Reid Travis committed to play for La Familia some time ago, but has now had to pull out of the event with a back injury. It's more bad luck for the former Wildcat, who also had to pull out of a previous tournament as well.
La Familia did add another player, however, and it's one with a record of success against The Ville. Chris Coffey played for the Sideline Cancer team in 2025, and was instrumental in taking down the Louisville squad. He recorded 11 points an 9 rebounds in the round two victory.
Another loss, at least for one game, is Archie Goodwin. He was a key player for La Familia last year, averaging 18 points per game. He is expected back for game two of their series with The Ville, but will miss game one.
Finally, Willie Cauley-Stein has been a mainstay for La Familia, but this will be his last year. He told Kentucky Sports Radio that after this year's tournament, he was retiring, stating that it was hard to get ready every year.
