Khamzat Chimaev Prepares for RAF 10 Debut at Career-Heavy Weight Amid Concerns

The highly anticipated main event of RAF 10 is set after weigh-ins concluded in St. Louis, Missouri. Tonight at the Chaifetz Arena, Khamzat Chimaev will face Dillon Danis, promising an exciting conclusion to what has become a thrilling fight card for the wrestling organization.

Following his recent defeat in MMA, worries about Chimaev's physical state were prevalent among fans after previous weigh-in appearances. However, this time, competing at a catchweight, Chimaev appeared more at ease and ready for the challenge, striking a stark contrast to his earlier weigh-in demeanor.

Chimaev weighed in at 203.4 pounds, marking a significant increase of nearly 20 pounds compared to his last fight at UFC 328. This bout will be contested at light heavyweight (205 pounds), a step up in weight for both competitors. While Chimaev has never fought at this specific weight class in MMA, he did previously compete at a catchweight of 187 pounds against Jack Hermansson.

Dillon Danis also made weight, hitting the light heavyweight limit at exactly 205 pounds, as he looks to recover from a loss earlier this year to Colby Covington. Reports indicate that Danis's struggles with weight cutting last month were partly due to his preparation for a potential move to light heavyweight, which had him starting his camp at a heavier weight before being directed to defend his title at 185 pounds.

The co-main event fighters also successfully made weight, with Arman Tsarukyan coming in at 169 pounds and Tony Ferguson slightly lighter at 165.6 pounds. As the event unfolds, fans eagerly await the action that awaits them in the ring.
