Matthäus: “Bayern will not even consider negotiating for Olise”
Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthäus talked to German newspaper BILD about the rumors suggesting that Michael Olise wants to sign for Real Madrid this summer.
“Personally, I can understand the desire to play for Real Madrid. However, Bayern will not even consider negotiations. The headlines will only make them laugh,” said Matthäus.
“From Spain and France, I’ve heard nothing. But I know Bayern’s stance on Olise. Bayern Munich isn’t even considering selling Olise. Rather, their intention is to once again extend his contract and increase his salary,” he added.
It definitely looks like Bayern will want to hold a position of leverage with Olise’s contract set to expire in 2029. The only way Real Madrid can sign Olise this summer is if the player himself submits a transfer request and Los Blancos offer a record-breaking €200 million fee for his signing.
