NASCAR took Denny Hamlin's No. 11 car to the R&D Center after the Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. Following a strong run at Chicagoland, the sport had a closer inspection of Hamlin's vehicle; however, did the Joe Gibbs Racing driver receive any penalties?

Hamlin's No. 11 car had no issues at the NASCAR R&D Center, which is the best result from further inspection. In previous years, NASCAR has found issues that cost a race team and driver over 100 points and more, so Hamlin receiving the green light is excellent news.

Going into EchoPark Speedway, Hamlin sits first in the point standings with a 44-point advantage over Tyler Reddick with seven races left in the NASCAR regular season. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing hopes to carry his momentum into EchoPark, as the organization looks to capitalize on its speed in 2026.
