NBA fans troll De’Aaron Fox over new signature shoe

De’Aaron Fox unveiled his new signature shoe with Under Armour. The brand has partnered with Sharpie for the D. Fox x Sharpie Capsule Collection slated to be released on Thursday. However, NBA fans on X trolled the San Antonio Spurs star guard.

NBA Central posted the news on X on Tuesday, and viewers have seen it almost 400,000 times. It showed a close-up image of the sneakers, along with a video of Fox discussing its design.

The Kentucky product, who struggled in the finals, shared that he filled school notebooks with sketches about his big dreams. It inspired the design of the shoes to appear as if they were made using Sharpies.

“De’Aaron Fox shoe? It must cost way too much and hurt you in big games,” a fan wrote.

“I’m surprised under amour actually let him drop this if I were them I would’ve been pulled his contract the minute game 4 ended last season,” one reaction read.

“His signature shoe should have his logo of him gift wrapping the Knicks a ring,” a user said.

“The shoe looks nice, but Fox is definitely not the person who should be releasing a signature shoe, especially considering how bad he was in this past regular season and how terrible he was in the playoffs,” posted another.

“Damn these are nice, I wanna cop but I’m afraid they won’t show up when it’s time,” a comment read.

“Not picking you for my squad if you rocking these!” another fan commented.

De’Aaron Fox in the NBA Finals

Fox had a strong regular season, earning his second All-Star selection. The 28-year-old averaged 18.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.4 steals in 72 games. However, he struggled mightily in the finals against the New York Knicks.

He produced 12.8 points on 34.3% shooting. Critics intensely scrutinized Fox for a late-game drive and contested layup attempt in Game 4. He could’ve run out the clock in the closing seconds of a tight fourth quarter but decided to attack the basket. OG Anunoby blocked his shot, which became a crucial turning point of the matchup.
