Paraguayan senator launches new attack on Kylian Mbappe – “Pretending to be French”

Over the last week, Real Madrid and France superstar Kylian Mbappe has become a target for Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla, who has aimed abuse in the direction of the 27-year-old on several occasions since Les Bleus defeated the South American nation in the 2026 World Cup round of 16 on Saturday – a match in which Mbappe scored the winning goal.

Amarilla aimed a racist outburst in Mbappe’s direction in the aftermath of that match, to which the Real Madrid star responded by calling her a “despicable woman”. He has not touched on the matter since, whereas Amarilla has threatened legal action against him – and in the last 24 hours, she’s spoken again in the Paraguayan senate, as per Diario AS.

“What made us angry? That when Orlando Gill, a child, who was surely playing in front of the world for the first time and passes his hand with all the humility of the Paraguayan, and this son of a bitch shakes his hand and shouts in his face. That is not French, that would never have been done by a Frenchman. Cameroonian colonised, pretending to be French, resentful, rich new, arrogant and ugly. He was nervous and scared to death the whole game, like his whole team, they couldn’t score a goal, they won by farting. The only thing that many of us complain about is not having given him an open hand slap after the match ended. And I’m not a football fan.”

Mbappe will be fully focused on World Cup in spite of drama

Mbappe is unlikely to fully react to the situation with Amarilla until after his World Cup is over. It has undoubtedly been an unwelcome distraction for him over the last few days, although he will have his head back in the game ahead of France’s quarter-final tie against Morocco on Thursday.
