PSG to Make Fourth Offer for Midfielder as Liverpool Enters Race

While the player is currently on vacation after the 2026 World Cup, the Maghnes Akliouche saga is still not settled: PSG is expected to make a fourth offer to Monaco, while an English club has entered the picture.

The saga has been dragging on for several weeks, and it is still not over, as PSG and AS Monaco, although relatively close, have not yet reached an agreement on the player's transfer. Monaco is asking for €50 million as a fixed fee; Paris has still not made an offer that has convinced the Monaco leadership, and Akliouche has therefore gone on vacation after the World Cup as a player tied to his boyhood club.

But while the third offer from PSG made to Monaco was recently rejected, even though it was higher than the €35 million of the second offer, it was once again turned down. Paris is not giving up, however, and is expected to make a fourth transfer offer to Monaco for Akliouche soon, for an amount that has not yet leaked. The exact amount of the third offer, rejected a few days ago, had not leaked either.

While Akliouche has agreed to a five-year contract with PSG for weeks, an unexpected competitor has emerged in recent days: Liverpool. The interest of the English club was revealed by Sky Sports, but for now it is only an inquiry regarding the player’s availability. So no offer yet, and Liverpool was informed by the player’s camp that Akliouche’s priority is still PSG today.

For Monaco, which is naturally hoping for a bidding war to raise the value of its players, this approach from the English club, from a country where City has also tracked Akliouche in the past, remains nonetheless good news in case, in a rather unlikely way, no agreement could be found with PSG by the end of the summer transfer window.

More than Liverpool’s arrival, or not, in this Akliouche matter, it is another element that could change the situation and the price of the 24-year-old player. Not really expected to leave, midfielder Aladji Bamba is going to join Newcastle for more than €35 million, excluding bonuses, a sum that will do AS Monaco a lot of good, as the club is forced to sell this summer. This huge amount allows the Principality club to be under less financial pressure and therefore not to grant any favors in the Akliouche saga.
