PSG have yet to get into gear in terms of their signings this summer, and one of their top target seems to be trending further away from them rather than getting closer.
Yan Diomande has been named multiple times as the dream player to come in to Luis Enrique’s squad and replace the likes of the departed Kang-in Lee and the potentially departing Ibrahim Mbaye or Bradley Barcola.
However, after an initial wave of rumours about vast bids for the exceptional RB Leipzig winger, things have gone rather quiet.
Yan Diomande could be tempted by new Leipzig contract
Today’s update comes from Germany, and it’s not too positive. Phillip Hinze of Sky Germany says that Leipzig “absolutely want to keep the winger” and are preparing a new contract to sign him up to should he decide to stay put for a year.
The Ivory Coast star would of course only sign that deal were it to have a release clause in it, which changes the whole equation for PSG. Things really hang in the balance now, and the next couple of weeks will be crucial.
In other news…
Man City and two German clubs are trying to persuade one young PSG star to join them – but the Parisians would like to keep their starlet.
Another Coupe Gambarbella winning PSG starlet has left the club this summer, despite being offered professional terms.
