Random Ramsdom: Deebo Samuel would be a wild add
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 12: Wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. #1 of the San Francisco 49ers reacts after missing a catch during the second half of an NFL football game against the Los Angeles Rams, at Levi's Stadium on December 12, 2024 in Santa Clara, California. If the Los Angeles Rams added Deebo Samuel that would be wild given the fact that there has never been much love between the Rams and Samuel. There was the time when he and Aaron Donald had some beef (Donald basically said he didn’t know who Samuel was), and Samuel has somewhat terrorized the Rams for parts of his career with the San Francisco 49ers.

Is it likely that Samuel joins the Rams? I don’t think so, but you never know. If it did happen, it would certainly be interesting.

It’s Saturday. Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great weekend!

Rams are ‘best landing spot’ for free agent ex-Commanders, 49ers All-Pro WR (sports.yahoo)

The Athletic’s Daniel Popper named the Rams the “best landing spot” for free-agent wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The former San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders WR would be a great addition as a WR3 in Los Angeles for a few reasons.

Rams named as Deebo Samuel’s ‘best landing spot’ in free agency

“Deebo Samuel. Best landing spot: Los Angeles Rams,” Popper writes. “… Sean McVay feels like the perfect coach to get the most of Samuel at this stage. …He would not have to shoulder a huge load as a true receiver. Instead, Samuel would fill a role that leans into his strengths as a dangerous ball carrier.”

Aaron Donald’s Rams return would lead logically to another question (ramblinfan)

“While Aaron Donald is still undecided on unretirement, there remains a strong sentiment that he will rejoin the Los Angeles Rams at some point this season, whether that happens by Week 1 or just in time for a late-year Super Bowl push.

The second-biggest question, subordinate only to whether he will indeed return, is what kind of role he would play. In 2023, Donald’s final season, he logged 867 defensive snaps in 16 games. He was on the field 81 percent of the time. He never played fewer than 600 snaps in a season. In his last seven seasons, he never saw fewer than the above 81 percent of available snaps.“

New Rams uniforms don’t move the needle in team wardrobe rankings (ramblinfan)

“Perhaps inevitably, the uniforms themselves deliver considerably less than the hype. That said, the blinding banana-peel yellow of the Classic Sol edition is already growing, begrudgingly, on at least this Rams fan.

Ranking the Rams’ five uniforms for 2026

It’s not the fault of the new patterns if they fall short: matching up to the pre-existing laundry in the Rams’ suave closet is a tall task.

Here, however, is how one subjective set of rankings shakes out:

1. Royal Blue. When it comes to classic modern-day Rams, it’s hard to top the standard home wear. A proud representation of the Blue and Yellow faithful, with bonus points for the warm and fuzzy feeling associated with watching and/or attending Horns games at home.“
