Ranking every Big 12 university by acceptance rate before 2026 season

The Big 12 is made up of 16 universities that span the entire country and vary significantly in campus culture and academics.

Universities exist in Texas, the Rocky Mountains, the Midwest and the East Coast. However, many of the 16 schools are state-sponsored universities, making them easier to get into than traditional private colleges.

According to U.S. News & World Report, 14 of the 16 Big 12 colleges have an acceptance rate of 50% or higher. None of the 16 schools have an acceptance rate below 40%, making it a fairly accessible conference to join as a student, unlike the Big Ten or ACC.

Using data from U.S. News, we ranked the Big 12 universities by their acceptance rates. Here's a look at the acceptance rates of every Big 12 school from the lowest to highest, ahead of the 2026 football season.

    • Acceptance Rate: 82%
11. University of Cincinnati
    • Acceptance Rate: 85%

    • Acceptance Rate: 86%
