Sa’Nir Brooks Withdraws Commitment from Syracuse

Three-star running back Sa’Nir Brooks from St. Frances Academy in Maryland announced on Tuesday evening that he is no longer committed to Syracuse University. The Pennsylvania native had initially pledged his allegiance to the Orange on January 24.

According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, which aggregates data from various recruiting services, Brooks is ranked as the 457th overall prospect and the 35th running back in the 2027 recruiting class. He also holds the distinction of being the 10th best recruit in Maryland.

Standing at 5-foot-11, Brooks had previously chosen Syracuse over several other offers, including those from Michigan State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Pitt, Wisconsin, and Maryland. His decision to join Syracuse made him the highest-rated player in Fran Brown's recruiting class.

This marks the second decommitment from St. Frances Academy for Syracuse within the month; three-star tight end Michael Nnabuife switched his commitment to Alabama on June 6. Following Brooks' departure, the ACC program's total commitments have dropped to 18, placing the class 36th nationally in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

These developments come as college football programs across the country continue to navigate an ever-changing recruitment landscape.
