Savannah Bananas Bring Their Unique Brand of Baseball to Cincinnati

For the second consecutive year, the Savannah Bananas are set to entertain fans in Cincinnati with their dynamic Banana Ball at Great American Ball Park. This exhibition baseball team from Georgia, which has been dubbed the "greatest show in sports" by ESPN, will showcase their talents in a three-game series from June 19 to June 21 as part of their ongoing Banana Ball World Tour.

The Savannah Bananas, akin to the famous Harlem Globetrotters but in the realm of baseball, play their home games in Savannah while traveling across the nation to engage audiences with their unique performances. Their version of the game, known as Banana Ball, emphasizes a faster pace and thrilling entertainment, which has contributed to their impressive social media following of over 4.3 million on Instagram, largely fueled by entertaining clips and appearances by team owner Jesse Cole.

During their Cincinnati visit, the Bananas will face off against the Indianapolis Clowns, a team with a rich history dating back to the Negro Leagues in the 1930s. The Clowns are set to join the Loco Beach Coconuts in the Banana Ball Championship League for 2026, expanding the competition beyond the current teams: the Bananas, Texas Tailgaters, Party Animals, and Firefighters.

Games will commence at 7 p.m. on June 19 and 20, with a 3 p.m. start on June 21. Fans can catch the action live on ESPN, the ESPN App, Disney+, and YouTube. Tickets are available through the Bananas' Fans First Tickets app and on resale platforms like StubHub and SeatGeek.

Banana Ball is known for its unconventional rules and entertaining antics, including dancing umpires and kilts worn by players. Some key regulations include a two-hour time limit, the ability for batters to steal first base, and a unique 'showdown' tiebreaker if the game ends in a tie. Despite their playful approach, the outcomes of games remain competitive, as demonstrated by last year's playoff loss to the Firefighters, who were ultimately defeated by the Party Animals in the championship game.

The Bananas have also made connections to Cincinnati baseball legend, with appearances from Hall of Famer Johnny Bench and former Reds player Todd Frazier during their past events. For those eager to follow the team beyond Cincinnati, their 2026 tour continues with several exciting stops across the country, including Wrigley Field and Coors Field.
