Schalke join Champions League club in transfer battle for Raux-Yao
Frenchman Serge-Philippe Raux-Yao is on Schalke’s radar, according to Fussballtransfers (FT). The report mentioned the newly-promoted side made an initial offer to SK Rapid Wien for a loan with a purchase option of around €4 million.
The Austrian club declined the first offer as reports emerged that they would prefer a fixed transfer. Champions League participants RC Lens are among the clubs to show interest in the 1.97m-tall center-back.
Schalke identified the center-back position as the department that require more reinforcement ahead of their Bundesliga return. The 27-year-old has featured in 58 Austrian Bundesliga games since leaving Ligue 2 club Rodez on a free transfer. He was ever-present when Rapid Wien reached the Conference League quarter-final in the 2024/25 season.
