Vote for Cellcom Press-Gazette high school of the year for 2025-26

The 2025-26 high school season is complete, which means it’s time to vote for some of the top players and teams from the area this past year before the 2026-27 season arrives.

The final poll is for school of the year.

You can vote for the Cellcom Press-Gazette high school of the year until 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25. You don't have to be a subscriber to vote.

Here are the nominees. Be sure to vote in the poll below.

Bay Port

The football team made the WIAA Division 1 state title game for the second straight season.

The girls golf team won the Fox River Classic Conference title for the eighth straight year and placed sixth at state, the volleyball team won the FRCC for the second straight season and the boys swimming team for the 10th straight year.

The Bay Area Ice Bears co-op girls hockey team won the state championship for the second straight season and third time in the last four years.

The wrestling squad made the semifinals at team state while Alois Schlumpf won the 132-pound match at individual state and Tucker Athey was runner-up at 175.

The baseball team won the FRCC and advanced to a sectional title game, the girls soccer team won the league title for the third straight year and the girls track and field team won the 11th title in program history.

De Pere

Senior standout Grady Lenn won the D1 cross-country championship while the team won the FRCC title for the first time.

Lenn followed by capturing the 1,600 and 3,200 championships at state track for the second straight season, while the track squad won the FRCC for the fourth straight year.

Boys soccer shared the conference title with Sheboygan North, going 7-0-2 in league play.

The Bay Area Ice Bears won state, while the De Pere/West De Pere boys hockey team made state for the first time in program history.

Boys basketball won the FRCC title and made state for the first time since 2023.

Boys golf made its second straight appearance at D1 state and the 10th overall trip to the big stage. The Redbirds placed fourth with a 601, the best D1 finish in program history and the second highest overall after finishing third in D2 in 1999.

Green Bay Notre Dame

The football team went 13-1, won the FRCC-South and made the D2 state title game.

The boys soccer team advanced to the D3 state title match and the girls tennis team won at least a share of the FRCC for the fourth straight year while making the D1 team state tournament.

Girls basketball made D1 state for the first time in program history after all its previous trips came in D2. The Tritons won the FRCC title with a perfect 16-0 record.

The Bay Area Ice Bears girls hockey team won the state title while the boys team won the league championship.

Freshman wrestler Mya Beckett started the girls wrestling program as a one-girl show and qualified for state as one of the top grapplers at 100 pounds.

Tennis player Alex Thomas won the D1 individual state title, becoming just the second local boys player to win a D1 singles championship since the tournament was split into two divisions in 1995 and the first since Green Bay Southwest’s Johnny Zakowski in 2019.

Thomas helped lead the Tritons to team state.

Richie Flanigan won the D2 discus state track and field championship with a throw of 176 feet, 8 inches.
