Sophie Cunningham's Fever teammate had the perfect 2-word description of her

Sophie Cunningham has earned a number of nicknames in her time with the Indiana Fever. She's been widely known on social media as Caitlin Clark's "enforcer" over the past two seasons, and she's also shown plenty of willingness to stir the pot when it needs to be stirred. Now, she may have earned a new nickname from teammate Kelsey Mitchell, who raved about Cunningham's impact on the Fever throughout the season recently.

When asked about what Cunningham's energy brings to the Fever, Mitchell summed it all up by calling her the "glue stick" of the team.

"Soph is like the glue stick to this team," Mitchell said. "I think without her, we wouldn't be where we are. Her energy, her effort, her ability to shoot the ball, it just opens up so many avenues for us. And as a friend and as a sister, Soph is one of the ones that you want to look to for a lot of stuff, so hats off to her for making it worth it."

Cunningham has been a consistent spark off the bench for the Fever this season, and her impact has been undeniable. She's played in 19 games for Indiana while posting averages of 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting a career-best 49.1% from the field. She's also knocked down an impressive 42.9% of her shots from three-point range over 22.9 minutes per game.

The most impressive part of Cunningham's play this season has been the willingness to take on whatever role the Fever needs from her. While she's had strong scoring stretches, including tallying 11, 24, 12 and 13 points in four consecutive games in June, she's also made the effort plays that don't show up in the box score during key moments.
