Sreesanth's Challenge to Harbhajan Sparks Social Media Buzz

NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth has reignited tensions with some of his past teammates, notably Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir, with provocative statements during a recent interview. Sreesanth, who was part of the victorious Indian teams at the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, opened up about his contentious relationship with Harbhajan, particularly referencing the notorious 'Slapgate' incident from the 2008 IPL season.

In the interview with Lallantop, Sreesanth reflected on the past altercation where Harbhajan slapped him after a match. Despite appearing to have reconciled over the years, Sreesanth expressed dissatisfaction with Harbhajan's participation in an advertisement that references their infamous clash. During the conversation, an old image surfaced showing both players in boxing gloves, prompting Sreesanth to issue a bold challenge.

“This same scene, do you have the guts? Do you have the guts to come into the ring with me? Can you sign and come? Can you?” he demanded, addressing Harbhajan directly. “This is an open challenge,” he added, underscoring the seriousness of his remarks.

The following day, Harbhajan responded indirectly with a mysterious video shared on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, “Khali bartaan hi to awaaz karte hain,” suggesting that those who make noise often have little substance. In the video, he remarked, “Kisine bohot khub kaha hai ki karne do jo log bakwaas karte hain, hamesha khali bartaan hi to awaaz karte hain,” further hinting at the ongoing tension without explicitly naming Sreesanth.

Continuing his critical stance, Sreesanth reiterated his challenge, inviting Harbhajan to resolve their differences in the boxing ring. “If you have this much of a problem with the slap incident and me... let me earn too. Come into the ring. I am waiting,” he said, appealing to both their fan bases.
