Trump at the World Cup final: Who’s sitting with him?

President Donald Trump was joined by world leaders, his wife and FIFA President Gianni Infantino while attending the World Cup final in New Jersey on Sunday.

Trump became the first U.S. president to attend a men’s World Cup final as Argentina and Spain face off in one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the year. He was shown on screen in a suite alongside first lady Melania Trump, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

The U.S. jointly hosted World Cup games alongside Mexico and Canada over the past month. The trio of world leaders sat alongside Infantino and his wife Leena Al Ashqar to watch the final match of the 2026 men’s World Cup.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was also spotted in the suite.

Politico’s Sophia Cai reported that King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin were also in Trump’s suite.

The president’s sons, Barron and Eric Trump, were also in the suite, according to Cai.

Meanwhile, Argentinian President Javier Milei said he will be watching the game from home for superstitious reasons.

Infantino, a close ally of the president, also confirmed last month on “Fox & Friends” that he and Trump will jointly present the trophy to the winners of the World Cup.

“We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together,” Infantino said.

Trump faced criticism earlier this month after it was reported that he called Infantino asking FIFA to overturn the suspension of U.S. men’s national team striker Folarin Balogun. Balogun was ultimately allowed to play, but the U.S. men’s national team still lost to Belgium.
