One of the breakout stars of USC baseball’s NCAA Tournament run was pitcher Andrew Johnson. Johnson’s remarkable performance against Texas A&M in the College Station Regional helped propel the Trojans to their first super regional in 21 years.

Now, Johnson has picked up another impressive honor. On Monday, he was named to the roster for the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, becoming the first Trojan to do so since Ian Kennedy in 2005.

Johnson and Team USA will compete against the top college baseball players in the world at the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship. The tournament will take place in Taiwan from July 11-15.

As a sophomore for USC this season, Johnson went 8-2 with a 3.23 ERA while serving in a hybrid starter/reliever role. With All-American ace Mason Edwards likely to be selected early in the MLB Draft and No. 2 starter Grant Govel possibly getting drafted as well, Johnson could potentially be one of the team’s top arms next season.
