Vincent Trocheck reflects on ‘great four years’ with Rangers following trade to Mammoth

Vincent Trocheck’s time with the Rangers may’ve come to an end this summer, but the centerman is nothing but grateful for the four years he spent with the organization. 

“It was a great four years,” he said on the NASHCAST podcast. 

“Playing there on the road, that was always one you circle on the calendar, but playing there [as a Ranger] is something different and then you see the fans, especially in the playoffs, they’re such diehards and the arena gets bumping, it was just awesome.”

Trocheck experienced that electric postseason atmosphere twice during his four years, including a deep Eastern Conference Finals run in which he shined in 2024.

He led the the club with 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) during that run, including a double overtime game-winner in Game 2 of their second round series with the Hurricanes at MSG. 

With the Blueshirts failing to get back to that point each of the past two seasons, though, the front office decided to move the veteran as part of their continued retool.

After being floated in rumors stretching back ahead of the trade deadline, Trocheck was officially shipped off to the Mammoth on the first day of NHL free agency. 

Though it’s been a bit of a whirlwind couple of weeks, the new adventure has the 32-year-old feeling reenergized heading into his first season in Utah. 

“It’s a new journey,” he said. “To be able to come into this locker room and try to bring a different aspect with my game, it’s exciting -- I think we have a really good team here.”

Trocheck won’t have to wait long to make his highly-anticipated return to MSG, as the Mammoth visit the Big Apple just four games into the regular season.
