‘Words the Khoslas need to hear’ – Seattle Seahawks issue clear demand to new owners
The Seattle Seahawks are in the process of an ownership change, which will see Vinod Khosla and family take over in the Pacific Northwest.
It is still early days in the process, with the Khosla family winning the bidding at an NFL record $9.61 billion.
There is undoubtedly some big shoes to fill for the Khoslas following an incredibly successful tenure from the Allen family, which provided two Super Bowl trophies.
As the ownership change continues to progress, supporters in Seattle are gearing up to defend their Super Bowl crown in the 2026 season.
However, those supporters have already made something crystal clear to the Khoslas ahead of the week one opener in September against the New England Patriots.
NFL players are demanding grass turf fields remain after World Cup
It is proving to be one of the hot topics of the NFL following the recent World Cup games being hosted in the United States.
The Dallas Cowboys have already ripped up their grass field at AT&T Stadium on the back of their final World Cup game being held in Arlington.
However, players across the league are protesting online to see their respective owners keep the real surfaces ahead of the new season getting underway.
There is a belief that playing on grass will reduce the number of serious injuries that occur in the league, with Seahawks fans sending the same message to their new owners.
Seattle Seahawks fans demand Khosla family keep grass turf at Lumen Field
Having already seen Seahawks safety Julian Love protest online, the fans have now sent their thoughts to the new owners.
“Words the Khoslas need to hear,” replied one fan to Love’s post on X.
“Bet it would extend careers by at least 2 years average,” added another.
The Khoslas have broken the NFL record for a franchise sale by purchasing the Seahawks, which shows the level of investment behind them.
“Let the new owners know!!” said one passionate Seahawks fan.
“World champs deserve the best,” said another.
One of the issues regarding the installation of grass turf in the NFL is the cost to maintain it at a high level.
Another fan even directed their thoughts towards the NFL, they said: “@NFL get your players some real grass, don’t just cater to other sports and countries.”
“Are the about-to-be-new #Seahawks owners hearing this?” said another.
How well the grass turf could be maintained in the rainy Pacific Northwest is a big question that may well see the artificial surface return to Lumen Field for the time being.
