With about one month before the 2026 Major League Baseball trade deadline, the New York Yankees might be facing more pressure than ever before. For a Yankees team that continues to be one of the best in baseball despite some recent poor play, there's absolutely no debate that the front office has to make a move or two at this year's deadline.

I'd even go as far as to say that the Yankees need to make a blockbuster one, going after a guy like Sandy Alcantara. Fortunately, one recent prediction had the Yankees doing just that, which should have this fan base very excited about the possibility of bringing in the Cy Young Award winner.

The squad has managed a solid 49-40 record over 89 games, but hasn’t emerged as the powerhouse many expected as the year has progressed. Alcantara is undoubtedly the best starter in Major League Baseball on any given night. Even as a whole, many consider him elite.

However, his injuries over the past few years and his recent return could be viewed as a concern. However, the Yankees need to try to win right now, and he gives them the best chance to do so.
