A new era for LSU and for And The Valley Shook

Hello Tigers fan! It is a new era for LSU as well as here for And The Valley Shook so before we get too involved with covering all of the amazing things happening in Baton Rouge, I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and your mostly new ATVS writing staff.

My name is Tina Howell, and I am your new Editor-in-Chief here at ATVS. Some of you may already know me but if not, I am also currently the Editor-in-Chief of Canal Street Chronicles, the SB Nation site that covers the New Orleans Saints. I have been with them for almost 5 years now. I am also a credentialed writer and photographer that covers sports (including LSU) and community events throughout SE Louisiana for Newsbreak as well as Where Y’at Magazine, Biz New Orleans and previously covered LSU for Rivals too.

This new opportunity at ATVS is not something that I take lightly. I was born and raised in New Orleans, so I have personally witnessed the rise and falls of all our local teams. I believe that LSU has one of the most passionate and loyal fanbases in the country and this is without a doubt a very exciting time to be a Tigers’ fan. Yes, there will be a lot of new faces around here, but our goal is to bring our knowledge and experience to help make ATVS one of the best sites to come to for news on all things LSU. We also want our readers to enjoy this site and truly become a part of the ATVS community.

That being said, I have an amazing staff at CSC, many of whom have decided to join us at ATVS. We also have Ben Schluter, who has been with this site since 2022 providing extensive coverage LSU gymnastics. Instead of having everyone bombarded the site with an individual article about themselves, here are some brief bio’s so you can get know your new ATVS family and also, get reacquainted with Ben.

Caleb Yaccarino:

Hi everybody, my name is Caleb, and I am one of the new writers for ATVS. I have followed LSU and New Orleans sports for much of my life and graduated from LSU. You can also catch me writing about the Saints for Canal Street Chronicles and Roundtable, speaking about the team on the Dome Discussions podcast, and writing about the NFL for PFSN.

Matt Miguez:

My name is Matt and I am a high school English teacher, husband to Kaitlyn, dog dad to Remi. Sports has always been my life, starting as soon as I could walk. I have over 8 years of journalism experience, including bylines with Sports Illustrated, 247 Sports, the Advocate, and many more. When I’m not covering sports or working, I love to kick back and watch sitcoms, movies, or play video games. Looking forward to helping bring Tiger fans everywhere the best LSU coverage.

Anthony Parker:

Hello Tiger Nation. I’m Anthony Parker, but you can call me AP. I was born and raised in New Orleans and grew up attending LSU. I can recount many personal and affectionate memories from my time on campus and growing up as a Tiger fan. You can also find me covering the Saints for Canal Street Chronicles or on my podcast, Timeouts and Tangents, anywhere you enjoy listening to your favorite podcasts.

Jason Watson Jr.:

Jason is excited to be a member of the new team at “And the Valley Shook”! He is local to south Louisiana and loves to cover our sports teams. In addition to this group, he also writes with SB Nation’s “Canal Street Chronicles” covering the New Orleans Saints and another unaffiliated page called DaBoot Sports.

Ben Schluter:

Hello everyone. I’m Ben, you may remember me best as the gymnastics guy the past four years. I stuck around to be part of this new era of ATVS because I wanted to see what happens. The gymnastics coverage you’ve come to know and love isn’t going anywhere but expect to see more of me in the fall and spring than you’ve been used to.

Kyle Besson:

Kyle has officially covered sports since July 2023, beginning his career covering the New Orleans Saints with Canal Street Chronicles. Since, Kyle has published with Sports Illustrated, Athlon Sports, EssentiallySports, and a past stint with And The Valley Shook. Driven by his love for talking about sports, Kyle is pursuing a journalism degree at LSU New Orleans.

Nic Jennings:

Nic is a 23-year-old student at Appalachian State University. Has been with Canal Street Chronicles since June 2024, is the co-host of The Dome Discussions Podcast with The Kneaux since May 2025 and has been a regular guest on the Jordy Hultberg Show every Wednesday morning on ESPN Southwest Louisiana (103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles).

We at ATSV are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to building relationships with our readers and growing the site by providing you the best LSU content possible. We have BIG plans for the future, whether it be live reports from games and meets, interviews, breaking news, giveaways, fan features, tailgate parties or in-depth analysis, this is a very exciting time not just at And The Valley Shook but of course, LSU.
