As he prepares for the challenges ahead, Dybantsa expressed enthusiasm for competing against some of the league's elite players. “Easy answer, [Kevin Durant]. him being my favorite player. I just want to guard him and be on the same court as him,” he stated. He also mentioned his hopes that LeBron James will still be active when he enters the league, acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding the veteran's future.

In a recent appearance on “The Gilbert Arenas Show,” Dybantsa described himself as a keen observer of the game, eager to learn from stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers. “I just want to see from a defensive standpoint how it feels, because they’re making it look way too easy,” he said, referencing the way these players score during games.

Dybantsa recalled watching Doncic deliver a stunning 40-point triple-double live against the Utah Jazz, emphasizing how his perspective has shifted from that of a fan to a student of the game. This approach highlights his commitment to improving his defensive skills as he anticipates facing these top-tier players on the court.

If the Wizards do indeed draft him, Dybantsa will have the chance to face Durant directly during the upcoming season, along with other star players he admires. As for LeBron, his status remains unclear; he is an unrestricted free agent this offseason after several seasons with the Lakers. The NBA Draft is set for Tuesday, June 23, and Dybantsa is expected to be the first name called by Commissioner Adam Silver.
