All Pro cornerback leaving AFC West in blockbuster trade

With a week until the start of the new league year, the Chiefs and Rams have pulled off a blockbuster trade. Kansas City will send All Pro CB Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles for multiple draft picks, including the Rams' pick at 29 overall in this year's draft.

The Chiefs now have two first round picks in this year's draft and three in the top 40 -- adding 29 to their picks at 9 and 40 overall. And they have one fewer great players in the process.

The former 21st overall pick, McDuffie was due for an extension entering the final year of his rookie contract. He was an All Pro in 2023 and he now leaves the AFC West to become the NFC West's problem as the Chiefs look to return to form and Rams make one last push to get another Super Bowl with Matt Stafford at quarterback.

This also takes the Rams out of the mix for Maxx Crosby who has also had trade rumors swirling around him all offseason and could be dealt this week as well.
