Ancelotti Optimistic Ahead of Brazil's Clash with Haiti: "More Quality" Expected
Carlo Ancelotti conveyed a sense of optimism during a press conference on Thursday, as he prepared his team for the upcoming World Cup match against Haiti. The Brazilian coach expressed disappointment with his squad's performance in their first game against Morocco, emphasizing the need for improvement and a more refined display in their next outing.
"The team was not happy because the opener was not good, especially the first half. Tomorrow we’re already going to play a different game, with much more quality," Ancelotti stated, highlighting his expectations for a stronger performance.
In their previous match, Brazil managed a 1-1 draw, while Haiti suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Scotland. Despite the loss, Ancelotti noted that Haiti demonstrated commendable attributes that should not be underestimated. "Haiti showed physical quality, a team that is well organized, with a very clear system and a very tall target center forward," he remarked, recognizing their competitive spirit.
The coach acknowledged the challenges every team faces in the World Cup, stating, "There are no matches with a clear outcome; all games are very balanced and competitive." Although he refrained from revealing his starting lineup, Ancelotti confirmed that changes would be made for the match scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Brasília time on Friday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
