Chicago Wolves Secure Overtime Victory in Game Four of Calder Cup Finals

The Chicago Wolves kept their championship hopes alive with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory against the Toronto Marlies in Game Four of the 2026 Calder Cup Finals. With this win, the Wolves have narrowed the series deficit to 3-1.

The game began on a high note for Chicago as AHL All-Star Bradly Nadeau scored just 28 seconds in, firing a sharp-angle shot that slipped between Marlies goalie Artur Akhtyamov and the left post. However, the Marlies quickly seized control, outshooting the Wolves 20-4 for the remainder of the first period. Jacob Quillan equalized for Toronto at the 4:36 mark, and Luke Haymes added another goal at 9:58, ending the first 20 minutes with the Marlies leading 2-1.

In the second period, the Wolves shifted momentum, outshooting Toronto 10-5. Despite having two power play opportunities, including a brief two-man advantage, Chicago couldn't capitalize. Instead, Ryan Tverberg extended Toronto's lead to 3-1 with a wrist shot following a long pass from Dakota Mermis.

As the final period unfolded, the Wolves found their rhythm, scoring two quick goals to level the match at 3-3. AHL All-Star defenceman Domenick Fensore and forward Justin Robidas were the heroes for Chicago, capitalizing on the Marlies' slow start in the period. Although Toronto attempted to regain control, they could not find the net again, leading to overtime.

In the extra period, Chicago dominated with a 4-2 shot advantage. It was forward Viktor Neuchev who ultimately sealed the victory, scoring the decisive goal. Wolves goalie Cayden Primeau recorded an impressive 33 saves on 36 shots, while Akhtyamov made 22 saves on 26 shots for Toronto.
