Arizona Cardinals Support Special Olympics with Unique Flight

The Arizona Cardinals have made a positive impact this offseason by utilizing their team aircraft for a charitable cause. In collaboration with Gridiron Air, the team's affiliate, they participated in the Special Olympics Airlift, transporting over 140 athletes and coaches from Arizona to Minneapolis for the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games.

This marked a significant milestone as it was the first occasion in the Airlift's 40-year history that a widebody aircraft was employed, enabling an entire group of athletes and coaches to travel together on one flight. Moreover, the Cardinals proudly distinguished themselves as the first professional sports organization to offer their plane for this initiative.

After departing on Friday, the delegation arrived in Minnesota and is scheduled to return to Arizona on June 27. The Special Olympics Airlift is a collaborative effort involving Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker customers, along with various partners from the aviation sector, aimed at facilitating access for athletes nationwide to participate in the USA Games.

Since its launch in 1987, the Airlift has successfully transported more than 10,000 athletes and coaches, providing them not just a means of travel but also a sense of belonging as they arrive for the event. For additional information about the Airlift, visit this link.
