A’s Rally Late to Secure Series Victory Over Brewers
The Oakland Athletics staged a remarkable comeback to claim a thrilling 4-3 win against the Milwaukee Brewers in the final game of their three-game series. After trailing 3-0 heading into the seventh inning, the A’s offense erupted just in time to secure the victory at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Milwaukee dominated early, scoring first for the third consecutive game. Christian Yelich opened with a walk and later crossed home plate thanks to Andrew Vaughn's two-out single. The Brewers extended their lead in the second inning when Gary Sanchez launched a solo homer, his seventh of the season. In the third, Jackson Chourio hit a towering 440-foot home run, putting the A’s in a 3-0 hole against starter Jack Perkins.
Despite the early struggles, the A’s offense finally sparked to life in the bottom of the sixth. Alika Williams hit his first major league home run, narrowing the deficit to two runs. The momentum shifted dramatically in the seventh when Carlos Cortes hit a 461-foot solo homer, followed by a two-run blast from Lawrence Butler that put the A’s ahead 4-3.
In the eighth, the Brewers threatened with two singles, but A’s pitcher Hogan Harris managed to escape the inning by inducing a double play. The A’s had a chance to extend their lead but failed to capitalize with Shea Langeliers in scoring position. Elvis Alvarado came in to close the game in the ninth, striking out two batters to earn his first career save and secure the series win for Oakland.
The Athletics will enjoy a day off before facing the Colorado Rockies in their next series, signaling a strong start to their homestand.
