Badgers Secure Commitment from Defensive Lineman Yahzeen Zion
The Wisconsin Badgers celebrated a significant victory in recruitment on Saturday, successfully securing the commitment of three-star defensive lineman Yahzeen Zion. Zion revealed his decision following a weekend that saw the Badgers fend off competition from powerhouse programs including LSU, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State.
At 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 265 pounds, Zion has made a name for himself at Desert Edge High School in Arizona. His commitment marks another step forward for Wisconsin, which has been actively building its 2027 recruiting class. Zion’s versatility allows the Badgers to consider him for multiple defensive roles, potentially as a jumbo edge rusher or as a more traditional interior lineman.
This commitment adds to Wisconsin's growing list of recruits, as Zion joins fellow edge prospect Isaac Miller in the class. The Badgers are not stopping here; they are also hosting three-star Texas Tech commit Brody Pfannenstiel this weekend and welcomed three-star Chicago edge rusher Darin Graham for a visit last weekend. Both players could potentially enhance Wisconsin's defensive lineup further.
With Zion on board, Wisconsin’s class now totals 18 commitments, and the coaching staff remains focused on attracting more talent from their remaining target list this weekend.
