Chase Burns not among MLB's top 10 in its pitcher power rankings
When MLB's official Twitter/X account shared the top 10 of its latest pitcher power rankings, the Cincinnati Reds' Chase Burns was not included despite his 11-1 record and 2.54 ERA through 18 starts this season.
The Philadelphia Phillies' Jesus Luzardo, 8-4 with a 3.51 ERA, was ranked 10th. The Minnesota Twins' Joe Ryan, 6-5 with a 2.85 ERA, was ranked ninth.
The Reds gave Burns, a 2026 All-Star who didn't appear in the Midsummer Classic, a seven-year, $105-million extension, per reports July 16.
Burns ranks fifth in MLB in batting average against (.206).
In April, ESPN's Jeff Passan predicted that Burns, the second overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, would win the 2026 National League Cy Young award.
