Chaz Coleman update with Tennessee football
Sophomore defensive lineman Chaz Coleman transferred to Tennessee from Penn State in January. On Wednesday, Pete Nakos of On3 released an update on the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman.
"Tennessee edge Chaz Coleman has yet to report to Knoxville for summer workouts, sources tell Chris Low and me for On3," Nakos announced on social media. "Voluntary workouts began earlier this week."
Coleman appeared in five games at Penn State in 2025 as a freshman. He recorded eight tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and one pass deflection.
Following Tennessee's Orange & White Game on April 11 to conclude spring football practices, head coach Josh Heupel discussed the status of Coleman.
"Ultimately, Chaz is dealing with some things off the field, and he's got to handle that and go through that process," Heupel said. "We're here to help and support him in all those ways, and we'll continue to do that, but that's ultimately the beginning of his journey right now, and there's some things he has to work with."
