Could Bryce Young be the QB of the future for the Panthers?

The future is looking bright for Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young.

Young was the first overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft and has spent his first three seasons in the league building himself from an inexperienced rookie to a playoff-caliber starter. This past season, he led the Panthers to an 8-8 record as a starter (missing one game due to injury) and helped the Panthers advance to the NFL Playoffs for the first time since he joined the franchise. And according to Carolina GM Dan Morgan, the Panthers are seriously considering an extension.

"I think you see him just getting better and better every single year," Morgan told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "Understanding the offense, he’s such a good processor, and a guy that’s just a pleasure to have around the building every day. As you see him mature, you see him become a better leader every single year. And the operation’s getting faster every year. So we really feel like the arrow is up with Bryce.”

A quick look at the stats backs up Morgan's claim that Young is improving each year, as he has improved his completion percentage, total passing yards, and passing touchdowns each season in the league. The Panthers also went from 2-14 in his first season as a starter to 5-12 in his second season to 8-9 in his third season – and in the seven games over that span he hasn't started, the Panthers are just 1-6.
