It’s another Wednesday evening at BCB After Dark, the go-to spot for night owls, early birds, new parents, and Cubs enthusiasts worldwide. We appreciate your visit and invite you to unwind with us. No entry fee is required, and casual attire is encouraged. A few tables remain open, so feel free to bring your own drinks.

BCB After Dark provides a welcoming space to discuss baseball, music, films, or any topic on your mind, as long as it aligns with community guidelines. While the night owls are encouraged to lead the charge, everyone is welcome to join in, even as the sun rises the next day.

Last night, I posed a question regarding the worst trades in Cubs history during the 21st century. I realized I overlooked the José Quintana-for-Dylan Cease transaction, which, while not the absolute worst, surely ranks among the most regrettable. In a survey, 53 percent of participants selected the DJ LeMahieu-for-Ian Stewart trade as the worst, a choice I would also endorse. Meanwhile, 22 percent opted for the salary dump of Cody Bellinger to the Yankees.

Now, let’s shift gears to music and movies. I've lined up a recent performance by Ponpon Chen, where she showcases her talent on the washboard while performing “Them There Eyes,” alongside a talented band in Los Angeles. The energy is contagious from this upbeat piece.

On the film front, I recently watched an old Jean Gabin movie that suffered from poor quality, making it difficult to follow the subtitles. I also revisited several James Bond films, discovering that Cary Grant was once considered for the role of Bond, but producers doubted he’d commit beyond one film. While Grant might have been a fascinating choice, he might not have embodied the athleticism we associate with Bond today. I’m curious about your favorite Bond films and actors, as we continue to speculate on who will take on the iconic role next.
