Detroit Lions fans react to 2026 NFL schedule reveal
At long last, the Detroit Lions 2026-27 NFL schedule has officially been set in stone, as the 31 other franchises individually revealed their slates for the upcoming season.
As a result of the Lions' last-place finish in the NFC North in 2025, Detroit was given the "easiest" schedule this season by the NFL's elaborate scheduling algorithm.
With Detroit's schedule revealed to the public, here are some of the best social media reactions from Lions fans and media throughout the league as the season slowly approaches with every day:

The #detroitlions 2026 schedule is here and man, there’s a lot going on here via @AtoZ_Paytonpic.twitter.com/MD8A39x1O9— A to Z Sports (@AtoZSportsNFL) May 15, 2026
Five NFL teams have zero primetime games in 2026, and four of them are on the Detroit Lions’ schedule: Jets, Cardinals, Dolphins, and Titans.
There are still some challenging logistical aspects to the Lions’ schedule, but overall, on paper, it looks like their most manageable… https://t.co/okxiL1Tm3k— Al Karsten (@FootballGuy_Al) May 15, 2026
No reason why can't win the division with this schedule 🤷♂️#Lionshttps://t.co/VesDJw6qZx— Dan Doebler (@dan_doebler) May 15, 2026
First, yuck.
Second, should be 4-1 at the bye, with some winnable games at home after that.
Hot start going to be very important against a softer pre-bye schedule. https://t.co/Mxq0g0yy9G— Scott Warheit (@swarheit) May 14, 2026
the Lions schedule is pretty amazing
first, Detroit plays the #1 easiest schedule thru Week 6
only 1 opponent is expected to have a winning record (BUF)
and after Week 4, Detroit plays ONE game outside prior to January 3rd... and it's in Miami
even though Detroit lost a home… pic.twitter.com/xa5iYYF2rs— Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) May 15, 2026

11-6 is my official Lions prediction for this year. With the added context that I think it’s much more likely they win 12 than they do 10.
I think they have the best combo in the NFL this year of roster/doable schedule. They’ll be a favorite in at least 14 games this season.… pic.twitter.com/zOBu6NvuQo— 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟑𝟒𝟒 𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 (@Section344Lions) May 15, 2026
Lions schedule is very favorable.— Chris Castellani (@Castellani2014) May 15, 2026
“Now make their schedule have a stretch of games where they travel 8,500 miles, face a team coming off a bye the following week, and then play on four days rest—three times in 12 days.” pic.twitter.com/eh0ToZDrDW— Ryan Mathews (@Ryan_POD) May 15, 2026
If the Lions really have a week 6 bye the NFL is crazy. International game + Thanksgiving and the following week, 3 games in 11 days.— Zigg Talkin (@FakeWorld313) May 14, 2026
OH GUESS WHAT?
THE PATRIOTS GET A BYE AFTERWARDS pic.twitter.com/1tJTeeUphD— John Whiticar (@Whiticar) May 15, 2026
Not happy that the @NFL has the @Lions playing three of their last four games ON THE ROAD against MN, CHI and GB…the last two being outdoor cold games. Praying that the developing El Niño - which means a warmer winter - comes into play here. The team meteorologist will be busy!— Paul Gross (@GrossWeather) May 15, 2026
Not only did the NFL not give the Lions a bye after the Germany game, which we already knew … But they doubled down and gave Tampa Bay, the Lions opponent after Germany, a Bye Week during the Germany week.
Haha. Can’t make it up.— 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟑𝟒𝟒 𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 (@Section344Lions) May 14, 2026
