Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow Transferred to 60-Day Injured List Due to Ongoing Back Issues
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the 60-day injured list, indicating that his troublesome back continues to impede his recovery. The 32-year-old right-handed pitcher has been sidelined since May 8, following the onset of a back spasm just two days prior. Initially, the team anticipated a brief absence, but Glasnow's condition has led to a more extended rehabilitation period.
Manager Dave Roberts shared that the pitcher has yet to receive clearance to start a throwing program. "I think he wants to get cranking again,” Roberts commented, “but then the doctors just are not allowing for it and the body is not allowing for it.” With this latest setback, Glasnow is not expected to return until at least July 6.
In response to Glasnow's injury, the Dodgers have added pitcher Nick Frasso to their 40-man roster, although he will remain with Triple-A Oklahoma City for the time being. The 27-year-old right-hander has a record of 0-0 with a 4.85 ERA over 11 games this season, accumulating 24 strikeouts in 13 innings. Last year, Frasso posted a 6-1 record with a 5.49 ERA in 43 appearances, including seven starts, after joining the Dodgers from the Toronto Blue Jays in August 2022.
