Eason and Montgomery Recognized as NJCAA All-Americans in Softball
Two standout athletes from the region have received prestigious NJCAA Division II Softball All-American accolades. Mabry Eason, a freshman outfielder from Lafayette, has been selected for the first team while playing for Jones College. Over the course of the season, Eason showcased her impressive skills by achieving a batting average of .358, hitting 24 home runs, and driving in 65 runs. She also scored 58 runs in 55 games and maintained a solid .977 fielding percentage, contributing significantly to Jones's notable performance in the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Ashley Montgomery, a sophomore pitcher from Mantachie, earned second-team All-American honors while competing for Itawamba. This marks the second consecutive year she has received All-American recognition, previously being honored during her time at Northeast. In her current season, Montgomery recorded a 14-9 win-loss record and an impressive 2.39 ERA, along with a school-record 205 strikeouts across 146 2/3 innings. Her efforts were instrumental in leading the Indians to a 35-17 record and securing a spot in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
