Fenerbahce executive in Marseille to discuss Mason Greenwood transfer
Fenerbahce executive Feridun Gecgel is in Marseille currently to discuss the transfer of OM forward Mason Greenwood (24), according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Greenwood is expected to leave Marseille this summer, following two full seasons with the Ligue 1 club. La Provence understands that the former Manchester United forward has already given back the keys to his house in Aix in anticipation of an exit.
The Englishman is opposed to a move to Saudi Arabia, despite approaches. L’Équipe understands that there is also interest from Atletico Madrid, whilst AS Roma have been pushing to sign the former Manchester United forward this summer.
Fenerbahce are now locked in talks, Foot Mercato understands. Gecgel is currently in France discussing a deal with his counterparts at Olympique de Marseille. A €30m bid has already been rejected, with Les Phocéens holding out for a €50m fee. Another bid is expected to be tabled by the Turkish side, although, once again, it is expected to fall short of Marseille’s valuation.
