Former Falcons running back signs with Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have signed former Atlanta Falcons running back Carlos Washington Jr. to their 90-man roster. The former Southeastern Louisiana standout spent three seasons in Atlanta after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
Washington spent all three years on the Falcons' practice squad, appearing in two games primarily on special teams. While he didn't play in the 2025 preseason, Washington racked up 140 total rushing yards and two touchdowns in the 2023 and 2024 exhibition seasons.
Atlanta released Washington back on May 11 following the team's rookie minicamp. The 27-year-old running back will join several of his former teammates, including punter Bradley Pinion and kicker Zane Gonzalez, in Miami.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are taking a look at former Georgia running back Cash Jones, who signed with the team as an undrafted free agent. Atlanta let veteran running back Tyler Allgeier walk in free agency, and signed Brian Robinson Jr. to back up Bijan Robinson in 2026.
